It’s the cats’ whiskers darlings……………

So, why do cats have whiskers you may well ask? So fascinating, they are actually very advanced sensory tools that help a cat ‘see’ in the dark and steer clear of hungry predators. Whiskers are highly sensitive tactile hairs that grow in patterns on a cat’s muzzle – they are effectively another ‘organ’ of the cat’s body. They are so sensitive that they can detect even the smallest change in the cat’s environment.

Whiskers are also used by cats as their measuring stick!  The whiskers will help a cat to gauge whether it can fit into or through a tight space – even if they can’t see it.  How cool is that?  Whiskers will also respond to vibrations in the air, such as when a cat is chasing prey.

Which brings me onto another attribute of the superior cat, and that’s its ability to see in the dark – that’s even cooler than whiskers!  Cats can’t see fine detail or rich colour, but they do have a superior ability to see in the dark because of the high number of rods in their retina that are sensitive to dim light.  As a result cats can see using roughly one-sixth the amount of light that people need.

I really am such a mine of useful information.

Talking of whiskers, what I’m about to show you really is the cats’ whiskers.  Just look at my new range of beautiful bags, wallets and purses with this so pretty cat design – and just look at the little ears on the cosmetic bag.  You’ll just swoon my friends at this lovely range that I’ve selected with care and love just for you.

That’s all for now, but if you want to know anything about cats, just ask yours truly, a queen amongst cats!

Love and kisses from Kat xx
